Celebrating St Georges day 2024

Date: 25th Apr 2024 Author: Claire Pickering

Leaders, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers headed to Wakefield Cathedral on  Sunday 21st April to join in the annual district scout parade and St Georges day service. We joined hundreds of others from across the Wakefield scouting district and this year the 31st had the honour of leading the parade and giving the readings of the scout promise and law at the cathedral. We were all brimming with pride when amongst the awards given for long service this year our very own Skip, David Pontin was awarded the Silver Wolf. This is the highest award made by The Scout Association “for services of the most exceptional character.” It is an unrestricted gift of the Chief Scout and we are all in awe of this huge and well deserved achievement B-R-A-V-O, Bravo Skip!
