Scouts

Scouts are the fourth section of the Scouting movement, but were the first to be founded by Baden Powell over 100 years ago. From the first experimental camp for 20 boys in 1907, the movement now has an estimated 28 million members worldwide, and in the UK alone there are over 499,000 young people involved in Scouting. Membership is for boys and girls aged 10.5 to 14 years old and our scouts are an adventurous, friendly bunch. Scouts build their real world skills, taking new friendships and teamwork tasks in their stride. They trek, camp and paddle their way through a varied programme with plenty of adventures under canvas and on the water.

As their confidence and skills build there are opportunities to work towards Chief Scouts Gold Award as well as scout badges and awards.

Our Scouts meet in the Church Hall every Thursday from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. For an informal chat about joining scouts speak to Ethan Thompson, 07446 228228, 31stwakefield@gmail.com
